Northbound in a campervan

The day after school finished for the year we flew to Auckland for a two week road trip to Northland. We have never been to this part of New Zealand before so were excited to explore new territory.

Pre-trip, fresh and new at the Auckland airport

We had rented a campervan which was a little worse for wear after many previous miles, but seemed to have all the right parts.

We made a rookie mistake right out of the gate. We were very hungry but missed the first two spots to grab lunch, not realizing that we were being sent the rural route and there would be no further food. It was a saving grace to happen upon a golf club with a cafe. All the fried food we needed to satisfy our empty stomachs.

Full and happy again...

A little trickier when Quinn falls asleep in the campervan. Wren, doing a valiant job of trying to keep her head up. We figured out a system using her backpack where she could rest her head for future naps.

Onward!
