Long weekend
Diwali is the Indian festival of lights and a big celebration in these parts. We went to the festival and enjoyed seeing another culture! Just like traveling abroad:) They had traditional Indian dancing and delicious food. Plus, Ganesha!
In other news, it's time for carrot overload! This is only a fraction of the harvest. Every year it's a surprise what is going to do well...
We just had a 4 day weekend due to Labor Day and Teacher Only day. Many people went places around NZ but we just made a list of new things we wanted to do in Wellington and stayed local.
A trip to the Island Bay Marine Centre is always amazing. A close up of what we find in the bay.
Wren's imitation of a blue cod.

These brittle stars move like underwater spiders...
And always the most fascinating, an octopus tending her eggs. These are octopus that are rescued from accidentally getting fished. She will clean and tend her eggs for months until they hatch (and be released into the ocean) and then she will die.
