Level 2

After three days of zero new cases the girls listened to their fearless female leader announce Level 2.

Level 2--Opening of all services (libraries, pools, stores etc.), domestic travel allowed (!), gatherings of friends and family up to 10 people (!). School for the kids starts in a week (!). This return to our old life is astounding.

For our last day of Level 3 we went on a long hike that started and ended from our house. Keeping it local for the last day.

Level 2 began with a rainbow over the ocean, viewed from our bedroom window. Hopefully a good sign for the dawning of our new world...

The girls got to see all their friends this first week of Level 2, with a playdate each on the field with their gangs. The thing they were most looking forward to was hugging their friends. So amazing to see that happen again.

They were also really looking forward to going to the library too which we did yesterday. Wren said she couldn't sleep the night before, she was so excited. Quinn announced the library was her second favorite place (after home). The library is no longer a relaxing experience (no chairs to sit on now) but the girls filled up their bags with books and were satisfied.

Lucas will still be working from home until next term, we think. School will be largely the same for the girls. They can play with whomever at morning tea and lunch, which was a relief to hear. We are going to miss having them home with us. Despite the global pandemic and impending economic collapse, it's been such a gift to get to spend so much time together.
