Southerly

One of our most intense southerlies blew in this weekend. The weather system from Antarctica lashed us with hard, cold rain and wind. The heavy deck chairs blew off the deck! Mostly we were happy to be indoors but also excited to step out into it and feel the fury.

Suiting up.

Instantly a tempest

Down at the beach we could barely look into the wind-- it was driving the rain droplets so hard they hurt!

Wren and I walked on to the school to see what the stream was doing. So amazing to see this little stream that we know so well, in flood.

It's times like these, self-isolating from a virus and feeling the power of the storm, that I am reminded that nature rules.
