Sailing
Lucas and I signed on to sail on the tall ship, the Spirit of New Zealand. We went out on the harbor (for a 3 hour tour...) and got to heave up all the big sails. Was beautiful out there, even if we had the rarest of Wellington days-- with no wind.
I was hoping we'd get to climb the rigging up to the crow's nest but that was left to the seasoned experts. Can you see her up there?
A calm day on the harbor
They cut the motor and I got to steer the ship, even if it wasn't really going anywhere
We learned some cool sailing knots and really enjoyed the boat tasks. It made us want to take a week long sail up the coast.
The girls, meanwhile, were hanging out with Keely--Lucas' friend. We met them down at the beach for breakfast after dropping anchor and going ashore.
