Summer Holidays
After the travel around Christmas and the New Year the girls and I settled into our staycation for the last three weeks of the school summer holidays. I love the unhurried pace of snuggling in bed and reading together in the morning, then deciding what we'd like to do that day. Lots of visits to the library and the beach. As well as lots of playdates with friends...

While Quinn was at an all day playdate at Quincy's, I got to take Wren and Ruby around the bays by bike and go tidepooling.
We went camping at the beach with the Robertsons for Wellington Day, a local holiday. Socked in with fog in Wellington (all flights cancelled!) but sunny and warm 45 minutes north.
Quinn and Sisi are quite a pair
Wren and Summer explored the campground and trails by bike.
It's been a windy cool summer, but one epic day the girls and I went swimming in the ocean all day--Taking a break only to walk in our wetsuits to the ice cream store and back.
At the end of the swim, some fries and a view.
The girls put on a few plays. This one involved Quinn being a coathanger for Wren's clothes.
On two afternoons the girls earned some gold coins with their lemonade stand.
Quinn can now make cookies on her own--choosing the recipe, getting out all the ingredients, measuring and mixing.
The time off to spend with them is such precious time. We are all dreading the return to school!
