Nine!

Wren is 9! My how she's grown.

Wren loves water and is always up for swimming, ocean or pool. She loves art and reading and exploration. She loves animals, especially horses, though she's also a little scared of animals. She is tenacious when she gets her mind set on something. She is a loving, tolerant, big sister, but also knows how to push Quinn's buttons. She has a huge sweet tooth. She is an incredibly caring friend and is the peace keeper of her group. She has a killer, yet subtle, sense of humor. She is amazing!

Wren wanted to have her birthday party at laserforce, a laser tag venue with arcade games. We managed to find a date when her good friend who is living in another town could come. Wren asked for donations to WWF for polar bears for her gifts and she was satisfied with no physical presents.

Watch out, these girls mean business!

Wren's actual bday was a few weeks after her party. She had had a musical performance the night before so the school let the kids go in to school late. What a perfect birthday gift! We took a bike ride in the sunshine around the bay and had breakfast at a little cafe on the water. One the way back we found a crowd gathered, looking at a leopard seal that had washed up.

A birthday gift all the way from Antarctica...

Wren got to choose the dinner location and, as expected, she chose the little italian place called Il Piccolo. Damn, she loves spaghetti bolognese!
